Public Opinion, Consultation and Governance

Westlakes Scientific Consulting draws upon over a decade of successful applied research undertaken at Westlakes by WSC and its partners for a range of clients in public, private and voluntary sectors.

This work has also been applied to community, public, political and specific stakeholder relations in bespoke, systematic studies, which have provided advice and guidance to clients operating in challenging financial and political environments. Previous clients have included organisations in the oil, nuclear and tourism industries, large-scale, multi-organisation, multi-sectoral environmental partnerships, and the health sector.

Our ongoing, applied research in this area embraces public opinion and policy analysis relating to the natural environment and health and spans a range of fields of activity including environmental beliefs, values and attitudes, policy analysis and public consultation. It is relevant to environmental consultancy at a number of levels from the micro level of enhancing environmental decision options evaluation, to macro-level guidance on public policy and opinion relations strategies.

Our consultancy work in this field also meshes with life and earth science capabilities at Westlakes to provide clients with bespoke, innovative,
multidisciplinary advice to improve their control over their public opinion profile, stakeholder relations and political support.
