Welcome to Genetics Department
The Genetics team at Westlakes Scientific Consulting/Universitity of Central Lancashire has an ongoing research programme in radiobiology. We are primarily interested in utilising both cytogenetic and molecular biomarkers to measure genetic changes in populations exposed to high and low Linear Energy Transfer (LET) radiation exposure. Over a number of years, we have built up a good reputation in this area that has led to various collaborations with leading scientists in academia and industry. Under the realm of UCLan and with expertise in both cytogenetic and molecular methods, we are placed at the forefront of radiobiology research and now have the ability to diversify into new potentially exciting areas within this scope.
