Statistics
Overview
The main work of the Statistics Group relates to the collection and management of all data for worker and transgenerational epidemiology studies, together with the bio-statistical analysis and peer reviewed reporting from such studies. Over the last two decades our staff have been working on a number of epidemiological studies, forming relationships with Universities whilst also establishing a track record of success and standing in their own right. The core team consists of 4 statisticians, 6 data managers , 5 support programming staff and 1 internal dose assessment specialist.
Core competencies include:
- Facilitating study start-up, including obtaining consents and permissions
- Database design, data assembly and management
- Tracing, ICD coding
- Statistical analyses of cohort, case-control/cohort data through conventional (standardised mortality/morbidity, trends) and survival analysis methods using EGRET, EPICURE, SAS, S-PLUS, STATA
- Internal dose assessments
- Peer reviewed publications, presentations, customer focussed reports
