IPPC: Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control
The environmental science team have prepared IPC and IPPC applications and provided pre/post authorisation and permit support across a wide range of industries, throughout the UK. Our unique combination of commercial and academic expertise, and the full integration of the Air Pollution, Aquatic and Geoscience Groups, allows us to assist in all aspects of the whole IPPC process.
 
  • Phase I and II site investigations.

  • Evaluation of Best Available Technology (BAT).

The IPPC regime - from ‘Cradle to Grave’
The structured nature of the IPPC regime considers manufacturing as a ‘cradle to grave’ process, consisting of permitting, on-going asset support and finally site closure.
 
Permitting
We will work with you to negotiate and prepare your IPPC permit.
  • Whole or selected elements of the permit application.
  • Preparation of realistic site improvement plans to meet both regulatory and business requirements.
  • Collection of permit material.
  • Assistance during permit negotiations.
  • Response to regulatory questions (e.g., Schedule 4 enquires).
 
Asset support and management
During the lifetime of the site we can offer significant expertise, allowing you to utilise your assets to their full potential.
  • Site improvement plans.
  • Incident investigation and support during non-compliance events.
  • Assistance with integrating new technology in order to achieve continuous improvement towards BAT.
 
Site closure
We can assist with all elements of site closure.
  • Preparation of site closure plans.
  • Demolition planning, cost, management and impact assessment.
  • Site remediation studies.
  • Long term site monitoring.
