| WSC IT Services (WSC IT) provide a comprehensive range of computing services. With over ten years experience in the industry we can offer a complete IT support service encompassing desktop computing and server infrastructure, together with database development and bespoke application construction. |

| Our expertise centres around the provision of computing services to support health and environmental management information systems. In particular we have developed corporate Occupational Health (OH) databases for the nuclear industry and integrated these with our advanced epidemiological analysis systems to deliver world-class standards in workforce health monitoring. Over a number of years we have developed and maintained an OH database for our major client British Nuclear Fuels Ltd (BNFL) which incorporates employee records for over 80,000 workers based at five geographical locations, with work histories spanning some sixty years. The system incorporates data from several operational sources and possesses many advanced features for worker matching, employment history resolution and exposure record correlation. |

| A more recent addition to our portfolio is the icaseone product. This is an entirely web orientated facility, providing an organisation with the tools to monitor, understand and manage sickness absence, and to proactively audit sickness absence policies and procedures from the individual employee to corporate level. The application facilitates data capture from the first day of absence, through case management to return to work interview, with detailed reporting on key performance indicators and policy auditing. The system has been proven to help businesses considerably reduce absence due to sickness and the significant costs associated with it. |

| A key benefit of working with WSC is the range of scientific expertise that is available to apply to a given solution. In addition to our IT operation the company comprises the departments of Environmental Science, Epidemiology, Genetics, Clinical trials data management, Sickness Absence and Health and Social Informatics. Through close collaboration with these areas of speciality we are able to deliver and support environmental monitoring and modeling systems for the nuclear industry, urban air quality management services for local government, and specialist environmental simulation systems such as CFD, (Computerised Fluid Dynamics). We also provide IT resources to support programs of radiobiological study as well as clinical data management for the development of new pharmaceutical products. |

| Through the provision of the server infrastructure for our applications WSC IT have in depth experience of several variations of UNIX including Solaris, Linux, HP-UX and IRIX. Our typical solutions consider the use of Solaris as the most robust and highly scalable platform, Linux as a cost effective and reliable alternative and the other variations as necessary for specialist applications. WSC IT staff are highly trained professionals with extensive experience of technical UNIX support. Similar levels of expertise are available for the support of VMS and the Microsoft server platforms of NT and Windows 2000. Relevant staff members hold Microsoft professional certification qualifications in this area. |
