WSC Presents at Polonium and Radioactive Lead Isotopes Conference

Professor Paul McDonald of WSC attended the International Topical Conference on Polonium and Radioactive Lead Isotopes in Seville, Spain on 26th – 28th October 2009. The conference was organised by the University of Seville and the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority for international specialists to present their papers in eight dedicated topical sessions over the 3-day conference.

Professor McDonald presented a paper on “Natural (Polonium) and man-made (Plutonium) alpha-emitters in marine plankton: laboratory, field and modelling studies”, which was co-authored by WSC colleagues, Dr Richard Wilson, Dr Sarah Watts and Dr Jordi Vives i Batlle.

In addition to this presentation, Professor McDonald co-chaired the second session at the conference on Terrestrial Migration of Pd-210 and Po-210.
