IAEA EMRAS II Working Groups Update

Dr Jordi Vives i Batlle attended the meeting of the IAEA EMRAS II Working Groups 4 (Biota Dose Modelling) and 6 (Biota Dose Effects Modelling) in Vienna from 20th to 23rd July 2009. Dr Vives I Batlle took a leading role as expert on the development of reference approaches for biota dose assessment in Working Groups 4 and 6. In this meeting Dr Vives I Batlle presented a scientific comparison of dosimetry methodologies by IAEA member states and was named the lead author of a scientific paper that will present the results of this study. In addition, Dr Vives I Batlle presented his EA and ICRP work on modelling of noble gases in biota, obtaining valuable endorsement by international experts at the meeting.

Professor McDonald attend the meeting of the IAEA EMRAS II Working Group 2 (NORM and Legacy Sites) in Vienna from 23rd to 25th September 2009. Professor McDonald presented previous radiological dose assessment modelling work on stack emissions to Working Group 2.
